FYI these do not do well in shipping as older springs. They also just do not do well in shipping typically in general. I send well over the amount that anyone orders. Do not be surprised if you have a few deaths as these are very delicate. Its why I oversend on them. 

These I keep like isopods. I keep them on reptisoil though, as it seems to work best for them. 2" worth. Then I add a chunky layer ontop, about an inch. Chunky wood. These like lots of spagnum moss (the green stringy kind not the heavy brown type) on either end and then a few pieces of bark that have a bunch of crevices they can get into. You can add a vent on each end. Sometimes I use ventilation and sometimes I dont when i move them. I havent noticed a difference at all. Depending on where you are and if your humidity is high or not you can either use vents or not use them. But they like high humidity. You are typically opening these bins daily so thats why I believe I have never had an issue there. Even a week vacation doesnt bother them without ventilation.

Ive learned also through this process of keeping these that you cant keep the regular tropical whites out. They get in anyways no matter what you do to prevent it. Which they do ok with some. Its when they overly populate the bin that it tends to crash the slime eaters for whatever reason. Maybe out competing for food. Im not sure. But I actually feed them daily so I'd think maybe they just get to be too much for the slime eaters. I also occasionally like tap the bark or sticks i have in there or wood pieces to get the tropical whites out and that helps but they reproduce so fast that it just delays it. Just FYI for when you get them setup and going. 
I typically start a bin and then when I have that slime eater explosion of population, I move 15-20 to a new bin. Thats usually maybe 2 months into a new bin. And by that 2-3 additional month range is when i notice that first bin going downhill in population and then that the process again. So I always have 2 bins in rotation. 

My bug room stays around 70⁰. These require slime mold to live longterm and to breed. If you do not have slime mold going do not order them. 

I do have some live slime that I can offer but it is imperative that you have slime going first because if a live culture dies you would have no backup. Also, slime takes time and patience to learn and get the hang of. You can refer to my live slime listing to learn more about their care.
