FYI these do not do well in shipping as older springs. They also just do not do well in shipping typically in general. I send well over the amount that anyone orders. Do not be surprised if you have a few deaths as these are very delicate. Its why I oversend on them. 

These like it moist. Kinda like the moist yeast growing in your grandma's armpits on a sunny 95⁰ day. 

I actually use zilla soil for all my springtails. I bake it at 180 for awhile. 😆. Sometimes its 20 mins and sometimes its 4 hrs later when I realize the oven is still on. Either way its still sanitized. For some reason any of the other soils get too muddy like and this soil is chunky (like your mama) and has little wood pieces in it so it works well. I am trying charcoal uptop on one of the sides and I will have to get back to you on that and how it works out (btw, the charcoal hasnt really done much as far as being a productive member of society for these springs. Kinda like your baby daddy. So you can just skip it altogether like you should have just skipped the baby daddy too). They have avoided it like ppl wanted to avoid covid. 

The green stringy spagnum works best for all these slime eaters. I just nuke it to hell in water. Its own baptism. 2 mins in the microwave. Then I rinse it. Fill it with hot water again and nuke it again. Pretend its like seeing people in church getting baptized multiple times a year like thats gonna change the bad habits and bad character flaws they have. Just nuke it to hell and then back. Again and again. You get the point.

Feed these slime all the time. Or they become angry elves, climb down your chimney and sing carols all night long to you and your loved ones.
